In Memory of Anthony John Masters

By Gregg A. Masters, MPH

For those of you who may be following the ‘NMP’ thread, ie, ‘Not my patient. Not my problem,’ so prevalent in U.S. health systems (see: Reports from the bedside: Observations on the ‘NMP’ Culture endemic in many U.S. health systems) since Anthony’s accident, we’ve set up a GoFundme page to cover his still unknown medical expenses and settle his estate (Anthony had no Will) in New York. As father and next of kin, I am actively pursuing appointment as ‘administrator’ (or ‘personal representative’ in some states), to settle his affairs.

Any support you may be willing to extend is most appreciated.

Meanwhile, here’s the story and appeal. Please do not feel obliged. If the impulse is from the heart, then it’s real – whether you knew Anthony or not. If the latter, some of his friends reflected on their time with him after a paddle out in Pt Pleasant, Bayhead, NJ: Tony Masters Forever: Friends Share Their Experience. You’ll get a feel for how he cultivated and grew meaningful connections with fellow travelers during his short stay on this pale blue dot.

Anthony we miss you deeply!
