Tony Masters Forever: Friends Share Their Experience

by Gregg A, Masters, MPH

More will be shared. For now here’s a small taste of who this man was and will forever be to his friends, colleagues and family.

First his mantra was “PMA” (positive mental attitude) evolving to “TMA” (Tropical Mental Attitude) hence the ‘Tiki Tony’ tag that stuck including a few others.

Yes, a complex man, that gave his life to his friends. Wherever he went, he lit up the room with an infectious cocktail (both literally and figuratively) of connectivity, lots of talking in a ‘getting to know you’ kind of vibe that always left a footprint and built community.

I now dedicate his clearly avoidable death to end the epidemic of the “NMP” problem in medicine. (Not my patient. Not my problem). See: Reports from the bedside: Observations on the ‘NMP’ Culture endemic in many U.S. health systems. More later.

A huge h/t to Dave Soleau creator, editor and producer of this exquisite video. Thank you Dave!

Enjoy!
