A Community Action Town Hall with Former VA Secretary David Shulkin MD

by Gregg A. Masters, MPH

The consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic are wide, deep and ongoing. At risk populations are especially vulnerable as we continue to understand the disease profile and how it interacts with the population at large. One distinct at risk population includes our Veterans many of whom present with known COVID-19 risk factors, ie, co-morbidities including diabetes, hypertension, obesity, or immuno-suppression (cancer, auto-immune disease, etc.), in addition to well documented disproportionate rates of suicide and mental illness.
