The Health Information Management Systems Society (HiMSS) 2017 Conference and Exhibition ran from February 19th – 22nd, 2017 in Orlando, Florida at the Orange County Convention Center. The city of Orlando is one of a handful of alternating venues that can accommodate the 41 plus thousand participants who’s passion and life’s work centers on demonstrating the value proposition of health information technology to enable the seemingly elusive sustainable healthcare economy that ALL Americans both deserve and need.
Health Innovation Media has covered HIMSS since 2010. Our presence and trend setting digital media coverage leveraging a unique combination of subject matter expert social, audio and video at HIMSS 2013 in New Orleans under the previous banner of the ‘Health Innovation Broadcast Consortium’ (HIBCtv), generated over 300,000 viewer minutes via live streaming of interviews and select exhibitor booth visits (still streaming here).
This year we co-located our ‘This Week in Health Innovation: LIVE From HiMSS17’ broadcast studio with our friends at Conversa Health, specifically co-founders West Shell, III and Phil Marshall, MD, MBA.
We engaged senior perspectives from market leader telehealth operator Teledoc, precision medicine initiative (re-banded ‘All of Us Research Program‘) technology enablement company Vibrent Health, the managing director for global health industry consultants at Accenture Health, SAP Healthcare and Life Sciences, Eurpoean market leader in cancer care Gustave Roussy, founder of point of care diagnostics company VisualDx, health literacy company Edlogics, ‘patented, secure, cloud-based communications engine’ LifeWIRE and NTT Data (former Dell Health) CMO Nick van Terheyden MD, and of course Health Innovation Media co-hosts Douglas Goldstein (@efuturist) and Fred Goldstein (@fsgoldstein) with support this year from the talented Jessica DaMassa (@jessDamassa).

Our focus as subject matter experts who have operated health systems, provider sponsored health plans, medical groups, physician networks and their management companies’ is on precision medicine, population health and accountable care.
